HR Business Partner
REMOTE POSITION
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000.00
The HR Business Partner delivers day‑to‑day HR support for assigned business groups, including employee relations coaching, policy interpretation, compliance tasks, and workforce analytics to guide leaders and improve HR processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Responsibilities (75%) :
- Act as the primary HR partner for assigned business groups.
- Use internal analytics (turnover, retention, employee feedback) to identify trends and guide leaders in addressing workforce challenges.
- Build and deliver a robust onboarding program that extends beyond Day 1
- Partner with managers to ensure new hires integrate successfully and have the support they need.
- Assist in administering our compensation philosophy, including COLA reviews and quarterly/annual incentive programs.
- Provide coaching to managers on pay practices, equity, and adjustments.
- Utilize critical thinking and a firm knowledge and understanding of all HR policies and procedures to provide coaching, guidance, and troubleshooting to supervisors and employees as necessary. Assist with investigations as needed.
- Provide support and timely issue resolution for various HR requests from employees and supervisors, typically received and processed through the ticketing system. Escalate issues requiring additional review or approval to leadership as needed.
- Assist the HR team in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including ownership of assigned tasks on the HR Compliance Calendar.
- Gather and maintain data, compile reports, and help analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, time to hire, headcount hiring costs) to aid in decision-making.
- All other duties and projects assigned.
Projects or Additional Duties Might Include Things Like: (25%):
- Leverage data and feedback from onboarding surveys to continuously improve employee experience.
- Partner with people leaders to use compensation analytics to maintain competitiveness and internal equity.
- Use workforce reporting and analytics to recommend process improvements and support business decisions.
- Partner with safety or operations leadership to support safety culture, ensuring HR practices support safe behaviors and compliance.
- Assist with benchmarking and best practice knowledge gathering, and sharing with stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, develop and communicate initiatives or enhancements to improve retention.
- Coordinate and present training to supervisors about Paul Davis discipline protocols.
- Administer key HR functions such as applicant administration, including hiring documentation, background checks, and other pre-employment testing; onboarding/offboarding (including handling the administrative aspects of employee terminations); benefits administration, including open enrollment processes; leaves of absence, including FMLA; compensation; performance management; people KPIs, and policy administration.
- Create and maintain accurate employee data in HR systems (i.e., ADP), including data entry and regular audits to ensure data integrity. Other data maintenance of employee records as needed.
- Document new and existing HR processes. Create and publish job aids for HR processes that are employee and supervisor-facing.
- Suggest, coordinate, and deliver communications to increase employee participation in benefits, like 401K.
- Assist with policy implementation and change management for new benefits deployment.

- Computer literacy with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams, SharePoint, Adobe, Zoom, etc.)
- Ability to understand business goals, research best practices, and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, employee experience, and development of HR within the company
- Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results within the team and with stakeholders

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3 + years of experience in human resources, preferably in a shared services environment
- Strong knowledge and application of employment laws and regulations
- Proficient in using HR software (e.g., ADP, PeopleSoft) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exposure and understanding of multiple HR functions and best practices
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
- Experience in process improvement initiatives within HR functions
Physical Requirements:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 100% of the time
- The person in this position occasionally needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer and documents
- Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, fax machine, copy machine, and printer
- Occasionally will lift up to 10lbs
Work Environment:
The employee will work remotely from their home office and will be exposed to normal conditions of heat and air conditioning. Most work will be conducted over email, video conferencing, and telephone. Employees must have access to a stable internet connection when working out of the office. Employees must use the provided technology to securely connect remotely. The successful person must be productive with minimal supervision.
Travel:
This position may require up to 10% travel. This position may require travel for training and team meetings, and may also require travel to office locations.
